Sharing Our Heritages: Master Classes in Cultural and Natural Heritage Management is the name of a new program funded by the australian government and the european union.

The program objectives are:

During 2005 the partner institutions are jointly developing the exchange program which will provide quality education and training in the field of Heritage Management. The program aims to encourage knowledge sharing and networking through a high level of co-operation between the Australian and EU university partners.

Masters students will gain international experience and develop cross-cultural and transnational expertise.

Students will gain a better understanding of:

  • issues relevant to heritage conservation in the different countries along with the contrasting approaches to management
  • ideas and strategies for planning and action
  • the increasing internationalisation of heritage management and how this is ‘played out’ at the local level in different socio-cultural contexts.

Students will be building a valuable foundation for networking in their future professional life.

I think this sounds like a good opportunity to learn about cultural and natural heritage management, to learn about examples from different countries and get in contact with heritage professionals.

If you are interested you can find more information on these master classes here.
