The UNESCO World Heritage Site Machu Picchu

Last week i visited Machu Picchu in Peru. This World Heritage Site is magnificent in it's beauty and location.
The state of preservation was good from the first view and the efforts for a good managament of the site were obvious.
Of course there are still some negative issues, like the high number of daily visitors and the resulting physical damage to the site or the fast growing city of Aguas Calientes.

Machu Picchu is listed as a mixed site (natural and cultural heritage) in UNESCO's World Heritage List.
