World Monuments Fund announced World Monuments Watch list of 100 Most Endangered Sites
The World Monuments Fund is a New York-based NGO:
Since its founding in 1965, the New York-based World Monuments Fund (WMF) has worked to stem this loss, playing a leadership role in the rescue and preservation of imperiled works of art and architecture. WMF is the only private, nonprofit organization devoted to onsite conservation of monuments and sites worldwide. It has achieved an unmatched record of successful intervention; aiding more than 430 irreplaceable sites in 83 countries.

Now the World Monuments Fund announced the new World Monuments Watch list of 100 Most Endangered Sites for 2006.
Similar projects are the Red List of World Heritage in Danger which is operated by the World Heritage Committee and the Heritage@Risk project managed by ICOMOS.
