8 th World Symposium of the Organization of World Heritage Cities in Cusco
The OWHC (Organisation of World Heritage Cities) is a city to city network with 208 member cities.
Many World Heritage Cities are facing similar problems (e.g. confilcts beetween housing and tourist-functions ind historic city centres, problems with coaches, etc.). The OWHC is encouraging the exchange beetween World Heritage Cities and promoting common projects.
Every second year an international conference where many of the member cities are present is organized.
In the alternating years regional conferences are held.
This year The UNESCO World Heritage City of Cusco in Peru will host the conference from 19th to 23rd of September.
